Snippets from an Indian train

Traveling by train in India is frustrating, hard, exciting, interesting and eye opening all at the same time. The stations are usually filthy, getting tickets can take a whole day and expectations need to be quite low, no matter which class one decides to travel in. Yet, the constant flow of hot chai delivered by kind men warms the soul, people are interesting and helpful, and the views rolling across the grubby windows is enchanting.
On our train from Amritsar to Delhi we had a yellow tinted outlook through two square holes of the compartment. I loved the effect it gave. Welcome aboard.
Yes, many of our blogging community friends have done some crazy train rides, and we have to say, there’s nothing in their writings that make us want to rush out to take on that experience.
Thanks for showing the pics and good luck.

Oh, Nancy and Shawn, we love train rides! Except for that one in China, we did awhile ago. But otherwise its a wonderful way to travel.
Indian trains are really the best, and the worst! Love the pics.
