Movie Night – 4

This week was my turn to pick a movie. My choice was Saturday Night Fever, but the disk would not play at the crucial moment – popcorn ready, people in seats..pressure.
So I made a call on the spot and this was it:

Funny Girl
This movie is from 1968, quite a few years back. Its 2.5 hours long and its pushing it a bit. The story is about Fanny who comes from the poor part of town and has a dream of being an actress. Gets her way through and becomes a success. Meets up Nick, the gambler, and a love affair blossoms. The trials and tribulations around all that with a few songs, some better than others. “People” and “Dont Rain on My Parade” come from this musical.
I enjoyed it, but the story line was a bit thin and the characters didnt win me over, or maybe its because Baby Blab called me a few times and I lost the plot.
Me:
.
Mr.Blab:
.
Ms. Fab:
.
Little B : retired to her quarters for sleep .
ok… so movie night is a seriously cool idea!!
It is! You should start one too. Dont forget the big…no HUGE bowl of pop corn.
HA HA one of my all time favourite movies. Sadly I’m old enough to have seen it at my local flea pit when it first came out ;-)
Have loved Barbra Streisand ever since. Omar Sharif wasn’t too shabby then either :-)
