Sobering up away from the beaches of Mexico

After a month of doing this:
randomly mixed in with a bit of this:
and on really lazy days a bit of this:
it is fair to say…. I was well and truly not low on Vitamin D.
But seriously, the kids started to refuse to go to the beach – need I say more? We had let enough reality wash over us ;)
With heavy hearts, palpitating from withdrawal symptoms, we loaded our tanned bodies in Moose and headed inland and towards our first stop there, Guadalajara.
And inland there is less ocean to dull the senses and more reality. And we are back to travel and to enjoying the different view of life that locals help us see.
Inland, also entails more of this:
and, salivating pause, more of this:
Had a recent couch surfer make crepes. They were nothing compared to the ones Gerry made.
Malcolm, you know the way to a girl’s heart ;)
How is the weather up there?
Warming up. About 50 F today. Are you going to try to stay with my old student in Costa Rica? I’m sure it would be good for everyone.
Sure. I hope we get there. Feel free to remind me as we get closer.
50F? Sounds pretty freezing to me, but then again Mexico is not known for cool weather ;)
Great photos. Came over from Fearless.
Thank you, Corinne.
Are you still in Guadalajara? I am studying here for the year, absolutely intoxicated with the colour and life of this city. Although sometimes and unlike your kids, I get cement-sick and crave the beach, so lucky it is so close to Vallarta and San Pancho. Will definitely be keeping an eye on recommendations for other trips you do in Mexico. Love your photos too!
Libby, we just left Guanajuato and arrived in Queretaro for a few days. I am about to write about that.
What do you study in Guadalajara? We met a few Chinese girls there that were doing Spanish in the University for three months.
